Kesler is going on a mission!!! It was great to be on the webcam with the family when Kes opened his papers. We are so proud of him! He will be serving in the Billings Montana mission! I think it will be wonderful and I am so excited. I don't know if it will be the case, but the family was talking a lot about serving on Native American Nation Reservations. My grandparents loved working on the Navajo Reservations on their mission to New Mexico. What a wonderful opportunity.
Yesterday Skyler treated me to a nice dinner. We went to a restaurant called The Carriage House. We pass it everyday on the way to the law school and I have always raved about the building style, but just recently I realized it was a restaurant, not a bed and breakfast. We went because I was craving fancy bread and butter. Which of course isn't hard to find...but we wanted to try a new place. It far exceeded our expectations (including the price... whoops) but it was AMAZING! Skyler ordered the lamb and I ordered the duck. They were both delicious! The atmosphere was wonderful and exactly what I had hoped. It has a rustic feel and it the design is how I have always imagined my dream kitchen.

The rest of our weekend we have done pretty much the same thing as usual...enjoyed time together while avoiding homework and then sitting across the table from each other while writing and reading as homework always wins in the end.
P.S. Only 7 weeks until I graduate!
So, Molly had Skyler and me intrigued by her "How Many Five Year Olds Could You Take in a Fight" survey. So Skyler took it...and got...20And he said "Take that Molly!" :) :) :)
Then I took it. And this is why I am a natural teacher...

I can take down any five-year old that comes my way! Okay, so really, that is sad to think of if you are trying to be a teacher. While I took the survey, I thought to myself that I was fighting off kids in a fight--therefore I was justified in my actions. For the overall safety of my students!
I know I promised an update for today, but I have actually been sick all day with a fever and have been trying to rest up. I will have to postpone the update until later. Despite the groggy/cloudy feeling I have, we are doing well and have enjoyed our time together this weekend without huge projects lingering over our heads.
Just a quick note, I start my new placement tomorrow (hence the intense resting today) and Skyler is on Spring Break. We are looking forward to the downhill slope of the remaining weeks in the semester.
I just had my last day at my first placement for student teaching. I definitely love my kids and my cooperating teacher and it will be sad to wake up in the morning knowing that I won't be on my way to see them. My kids did some really sweet things for me. I will post more details on Sunday. What a bittersweet day.

I think I am going to change my thesis research from the question of how can a teacher keep fast finishing students learning to how much time do graduate students waste when they should be writing their theses. That is what I am wondering since I draw a blank every time I go to work on my thesis.

Things are going really well but are really busy right now. Here is a quick rundown.
I was just inducted into the national honor society for eduction (Kappa Delta Pi)--kinda lame, kinda cool.
This is my last week in my current placement and I am feeling really sad about leaving my kids and my host teacher.
I sang in Women at the Well yesterday. I sang "He Came for Me"--one of my favorites. My host teacher and her husband came to hear me sing at our church. It was quite sweet of them to come and it was nice to see her out of the classroom (and not at Weggies). I think I did pretty well. I received lots of compliments.
Skyler has been very supportive through all of this chaos (this week will speed by...). He has been editing a lot of lesson plans, making dinners, and putting up with me. Last week and tonight he was in an intramural basketball tournament with other men from the branch. They are doing well. He really likes it.
I don't have many pictures. But here is the outline of my week :) To make sure I could get everything done before Thursday I had to map it all out.
I will give a more exciting update on Friday or Saturday as I will be free from classroom responsibilities for one weekend!
